Once that group took an indefinite hiatus in 2003, so did the pair's dialogue, until they reunited in 2016 to form the Messthetics with Anthony Pirog, a guitar genius no matter the genre. As the Messthetics, the trio scouted the frontiers of instrumental, jazz-inflected punk on two albums and at countless shows.

Kessoku Band is a fictional musical group in the manga series Bocchi the Rock!. Out of all the original members of Bon Jovi, only Jon, Tico Torres, and David Bryan currently remain in the band after more than 40 years of existence. Today, the entire band consists of frontman and lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, drummer Tico Torres, keyboardist David Bryan, guitarist Phil X, and bassist Hugh McDonald.

The members, lead singer Gary LeVox, pianist Jay Demarcus and Rooney, officially disbanded in 2021 after more than two decades playing together. LeVox previously claimed that Rooney quit the group, telling People magazine he hated how the group dismantled.
