Who is the best player to recruit in blitzball? ›

You really should recruit Zalitz (Luca Theater) and Ropp (Mi'ihen Travel Agency). They're the best defensive duo early on. Ropp is the best defensive player at any level, and you can get him right away at the Mi'ihen agency. For a shooter, you can try Shaami, the reporter in Luca.

Ropp is a more than capable midfielder, but his best position is definitely in defense. He has very high passing and attack stats and a fairly decent block stat too. He's more than adequate at both low and high levels thanks to his steady growth and so will likely be a mainstay in most Blitzball teams.

Best Goalies – Nimrook, Kyou, Jumal, Yuma Guado, and Wedge (above level 90 when his CA gets high). As you can see, there's some overlap between positions, and the statistics of some players increase or decrease sharply depending on their experience level.

4) Golden Arm + Slip Tackle

Golden Arm allows your player to shoot from very far, and Slip Tackle can bypass defenders completely so that your player can dribble the entire enemy team. Those are very good skills that can be abused to make the game a cakewalk.

To get a runner out you may, tag the bag or the mound(only if it is a force out), tag the runner, or peg the runner. Catching a ball before it hits the ground(fair or foul), as long as it is in play, results in an out.

3 outs per team per inning, 4 balls is a walk, 3 strikes is an out. Once a batter has 2 strikes, they are allowed 2 foul balls, the 3rd will be an out. However, if batter tips ball with 2 strikes and it hits the strike zone in the air, it will be ruled a strike out.

Selecting "Break to…" will bring up the Actions Commands menu, giving you the choice to not only Pass or Shoot the ball, but also to Dribble. There is only one mandatory game during the story. Everything else is completely optional. If you plan on defeating all the superbosses Wakka's Celestial Weapon and overdrive can be helpful (and those are what you need to play Blitzball for primarily) but are not required.

It's possible this could have been canon, but the whole affair is ambiguous. Rikku and Tidus flirt but nothing more and appear to just be really good friends.

Durren is the only missable blitzball player, as he disappears after selecting the "Sin" option on the Fahrenheit menu for first time, therefore making him unrecruitable.

Brother is the best "free-agent" blitzball player available to hire at lower levels. He boasts good starting PA, SH, and BL stats, but the key attributes are his versatility and his speed which is among the highest in Spira.

Mep is a Yevon monk who can be recruited as a blitzball player. Aside from low CA, his stats are fairly balanced. Strangely, his BL, high to begin with, halts in development and starts to atrophy at later levels. A jack-of-all-trades player, Mep can competently play any position in the sphere besides Goalkeeper.

Shaami is a Lucan reporter who can be recruited as a free agent blitzball player. She has high SH and EN, making her best in a forward position. She also has above average defensive attributes compared to other players in the position.
