Vinyl Wall Decal Projects You Can Make with a Cricut

One of my favorite ways to update our homes is to add adhesive vinyl decals to our walls. Decals are quick and easy to cut and can be made into any pattern in order to create your own designs. When purchased from a shop or retailer, vinyl decals can be quite expensive. However, when you cut your own with a Cricut machine, you can dramatically change the look of your room for the cost of just a few rolls of vinyl! Check out these amazing wall decal projects all done with a Cricut!

Since we move so frequently, I am reticent to invest in high-quality, statement artwork. But with lots of big and bland walls in our rental homes, I am ALWAYS looking for cheap, easy, and impactful ways to create my own art. Ultimately, using a cutting machine allows me to make really stunning (and cheap!) wall art with basic cardstock and minimal effort! Here are some of my favorites!

In addition to cutting out shapes and images to make art, one of my all-time favorite ways to use my Cricut is to make typography-style artwork (i.e., designs create with letters, words, fonts, text, etc). Cutting out letters by hand is incredibly tedious and time-consuming. But thanks to the speed and precision of a Cricut machine, you can make a statement piece that says anything…in whatever size, color, and style you like…in mere minutes!

Fabric Decor Projects You Can Make with a Cricut

If sewing is your thing, the Cricut Maker and Cricut Explore models can cut a wide variety of fabrics thanks to the Bonded Fabric Blade (Explore models) and the Rotary Blade (Maker models). This opens up a whole new range of possibilities for creating custom home decor with your Cricut.

But even if you don’t want to get into cutting fabric, you can also create countless designs to place onto fabric with either heat transfer vinyl (iron-on vinyl) or Infusible Ink. This is a great way to add names, monograms, or designs to pillows, blankets, tablecloths, napkins, and more. Check out these amazing fabric projects all made with a Cricut machine!

Vinyl crafts don’t just include walls and small gifts…have you ever considered using it on your furniture?! Just as you can completely change the look of a wall with vinyl, you can also completely transform a piece of furniture! Since vinyl tends to be removable, this a great solution when you want to breath life into something old or boring or you need a quick update for a play space or kids room.

Small Home Decor Accessories You Can Make with a Cricut

When decorating your home with a Cricut machine, not every project has to be big, involved, and complicated! In fact, I often recommend beginners start with small, simple projects like mugs, candles, and other easy craft projects. Although these projects are small, don’t underestimate the charm and style they can add to your surroundings!

Stenciling with a Cricut

I sure love being able to cut paper, vinyl, or iron-on into pretty much any shape and stick it on (almost) any surface. But sometimes, you might want to paint or stain decorative details to add permanence and sophistication to your projects. As such, consider using your Cricut to make your own stencils! While this certainly takes some practice, it definitely opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities for your home!
